Kadence Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 August 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Kadence covering your use of the Kadence website and mobile applications (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Kadence.
2. Eligibility and your account
Kadence is a general-audience service and is not intended for children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required where you live). You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, for keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. What Kadence is
Kadence is a discovery and release-tracking service for anime, manga, light novels, animation and games. It aggregates release information from public and third-party sources, lets you follow titles, and can notify you or add releases to a calendar. Kadence does not host, stream, sell or distribute anime, manga, games or any other media. Where available, it links to official and third-party services where content can legally be watched, read, bought or played.
4. Release information and accuracy
Release information in Kadence comes from many sources and changes frequently. Air dates, episode counts, chapter and volume schedules, dub and localisation dates, streaming and storefront availability, game launch dates, platform lists, regional differences and announcement details can all change, be delayed, be corrected, or be reported inconsistently by different sources.
Kadence labels information by confidence where possible and marks unconfirmed dates as expected rather than final. Even so, Kadence does not warrant that any listing is complete, current or accurate, and you should treat Kadence as a convenience rather than an authoritative schedule. Always check the official source before making plans that depend on a date.
5. Third-party media and content
Titles, descriptions, artwork, trailers, logos, characters and other materials relating to anime, manga, games and other media belong to their respective rights holders. Kadence displays limited metadata and imagery to identify and describe releases, and makes no claim of ownership over any third-party intellectual property. If you are a rights holder and believe material in Kadence should be corrected or removed, contact us at support@kadence.media.
6. Kadence intellectual property
The Kadence name, logo, wordmark, original design, original artwork and themes, editorial copy, and the software and data pipelines behind the Service are owned by Kadence and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, redistribute or create derivative works from them except as permitted by these terms or by law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use Kadence lawfully and reasonably. In particular, you agree not to:
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access
- probe, scan, overload, disrupt or attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits or other security or access controls
- scrape, bulk-harvest, mirror or resell Kadence data or content, or use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on the Service
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly permits it
- use Kadence to distribute malware, spam, unlawful material, or links to pirated content
- impersonate others, or upload profile content that is unlawful, hateful or abusive
- use Kadence in a way that infringes anyone's rights or violates applicable law
8. Kadence+
Kadence+ is an optional membership that adds enhancements such as external calendar synchronisation, advanced notification timing and appearance customisation. Core discovery, search, following, release information, notifications and outbound links remain available without a membership. Kadence+ features may change, and Kadence may adjust which enhancements are included.
9. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Where paid Kadence+ membership is offered, it is sold as a recurring subscription at the price shown at the time of purchase, and renews automatically until cancelled. Purchases made through a mobile app store are processed by that store; purchases made on the web are processed by our payment processor. Kadence does not receive or store your full payment card details.
You can cancel at any time through the store or payment platform used for the purchase. Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are governed by the terms and policies of the applicable store or payment platform, and in some regions by mandatory consumer law.
If your membership ends, your account, followed titles and preferences are preserved and membership-only enhancements simply stop.
10. Third-party integrations and external links
Kadence offers optional integrations, including Google Calendar synchronisation. Enabling an integration authorises Kadence to act within the permission you grant, and your use of the third-party service remains subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy. You can disconnect an integration at any time. See the Privacy Policy for how the Google Calendar connection works.
Kadence links to external websites, storefronts and streaming services that it does not operate or control, and is not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or practices.
11. Availability and changes to the Service
Kadence is provided on an ongoing best-effort basis and may be unavailable during maintenance, outages or upstream failures at data providers. Kadence may add, change, restrict or discontinue features at any time, and may change how data is sourced or displayed.
12. Disclaimers
The Service and all information in it are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, Kadence disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that release information will be accurate or complete.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Kadence will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or missed releases arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, Kadence's total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Kadence in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 25. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Kadence at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy. Kadence may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, if activity threatens the security or integrity of the Service, or if required by law. Suspension preserves your data and is reversible; termination may result in deletion of account data.
15. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the application. Continued use of Kadence after an update means you accept the revised terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country, state, or place of residence, and where those laws grant you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, those rights continue to apply to you.
