About Kadence

Where our information comes from

Kadence exists to answer one question: what is happening with the anime and manga you care about, and when. To do that reliably we combine structured catalogue metadata with release and announcement information from primary sources, and we label how sure we are.

Catalogue metadata

Kadence keeps its own canonical record of what a title is and when it releases. Around that record, replaceable enrichment sources fill in descriptive detail: titles, alternate titles, synopses, genres, formats, episode and chapter counts, studios, staff and related entries. Anime and manga descriptive metadata comes from open community databases, games from GameBrain and RAWG, books from Open Library, and animated series and films from TheTVDB. That layer is plumbing: it tells us what a title is, not when something happens — and any one of those sources can be swapped out without changing a release fact.

Release & announcement sources

Dates, delays, hiatuses, new seasons, trailers, casting and availability changes are ranked by source tier. Higher tiers override lower ones, and a lower tier never overwrites a confirmed date.

Reported

Published by a reputable secondary source; awaiting official confirmation.

Estimated

Kadence projection from an established weekly or monthly release pattern.

Change history

When a date moves, Kadence records the previous value, the new value, the source, the source type and when we detected it — so dates never change silently.

We never host content

Kadence links you to official and licensed places to watch and read. Metadata is used under the terms of the providers it comes from, with attribution on this page.

Schedule credits

Broadcast dates and times come from schedule databases whose terms permit our use. We store the individual fact — date, time, episode number, channel — and always link back to the record it came from.

Artwork credits

Kadence shows cover artwork only from sources whose published terms permit our use, and always from the source's own image servers — we do not rehost or alter it. Every image below is credited here and again on the title page it appears on.

Artwork from any other source stays hidden until its commercial rights are established, so a Kadence placeholder is shown instead. If an approved source removes an image, Kadence stops showing it.
